Amy began her career at the tender age of twenty, when she was first licensed. Taking a break from her university studies, she embarked in the family business, joining her brothers who were both Brokers and her father at their firm. Toronto was experiencing one of its most historic Real Estate Booms at the time, only to crash a few years later. Interest rates were at 17% and prices were rising like the sun. To have experienced and navigated in such a historic market and have lived to tell the tale, is the sign of a true veteran. She is grateful for the experience gathered and the skills developed during this time.
At the beginning of her career, while working for the family Brokerage, Network Realty, Amy was able to represent various well-known Developers with whom her office held an exclusive contract. The Agency was commissioned to sell pre-construction Homes and Condominium projects in both the suburbs and the city. Being the on-site Sales Representative for many now famous communities, she was able to pioneer some of the most notable neighbourhoods in York Region, Peel and Toronto. The list of Top Builder/Developers she represented includes Townwood Homes and Aspen Ridge Homes. Amy sold thousands of pre-construction units, which ranged from Starter Homes to Massive Estates. This allowed her to deal with clients from all walks of life, economic backgrounds and ethnicities. She takes pride in being familiar with the many customs and beliefs pertaining to many of the clients from the individual cultures she served. Understanding the traditional styles of negotiation and recognizing the delicate differences in negotiating styles, which may exist, while practicing Real Estate in a multicultural setting, is one of the keys to her success. Amy is also fluent in 3 languages, English, Italian and Spanish, which she finds gives her a great edge working in the GTA.
Her early dealings in pre-construction sales allowed Amy to better understand Home Building from blueprints, to finished product. She was able to interact with Construction Trades personnel and Site Managers, as well as Interior Decorators. She often enjoyed re-designing the interior lay outs of the homes and condos she sold, in order to accommodate her buyers. This gave her a strong base in the fundamentals of structure and design, which she uses to this day. Home Staging is also one of her gifts. But the greatest experience she takes from the early part of her career and the root of her training in negotiations, is that she was permitted access into the boardrooms of some of Canada’s most prominent Billionaire Developers, with whom she was, and still is on a first name basis. It was in those boardrooms that she was privy to marketing and strategy meetings with top agencies as well as negotiation talks with the developers themselves. This was a privilege allotted to a select few and she is grateful and honored for the experience. The strength of this early foundation has allowed her to operate from a point of confidence and professionalism in all her business dealings to date, and no one and nothing intimidates her.
For the following 15 years plus of her career, Amy has been working diligently in the Residential Re-Sale Market with occasional sales in the Commercial Realm as well. Having worked for the most respected Real Estate Firms; formerly with RE/MAX Premier and ROYAL LEPAGE Your Community, Amy is proud to have joined forces in recent years with Real Estate Icon, Daryl King, at RE/MAX Hallmark Realty. They both enjoy long, and successful careers and their combined styles compliment each other. Amy’s client base is very diverse and also includes some well-known celebrities! And Daryl King was featured on the popular Reality show ‘Million Dollar Agent’ which showcased Top Producing Realtors in the GTA. Amy also holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television from Ryerson University and has done some Radio Broadcasting work as well. She lived in Rome, Italy from 2004-2007 where she was able to explore her career abroad and which was a very enriching experience. In her spare time, Amy indulges her passion for music, being a Soul/Jazz singer and has been known to spontaneously sing for her clients. She is affectionately referred to as ‘The Singing Agent.’ Her deep love for animals makes her a supporter of many Animal Rescue charities. She is also a benefactor of the Children’s Wish Foundation. Amy especially enjoys working with the elderly and forms deep bonds with the Seniors she has represented in Real Estate.
